Learn more about the history of the Buriat, Russian, and Evenki people who have been living here since the 16th century. The village of Baikalskoye used to be called Goremyka. We've got only 15 streets in the village, primarly consisted of old wooden houses. The population is engaged in fishing and hunting for seals, allowed to local indigenous people. Come and feel mystical atmosphere of Christendom, Buddhism and Shamanism blended into a diverse cultural background.

Our menu includes the best dishes of Siberian cuisine. Meat, fresh lake fish cooked on open fire, wild berries and mushrooms, vegetables, homemade pies, village dairy products, cedar nuts and, of course, the royal dish - Buryat BUUZ (large juicy steamed dumplings with beef and wild onions). It's impossible to describe how good they are. You should just try! If you want, we will teach you how to cook them. Mmmmm... Delicious! If you have any special dietary requirements - just let us know. We will do our best to please you!

ARRIVAL & RELAX
DAY 1, Sunday
ARRIVAL
We will meet you at the airport of Nizhneangarsk (НЖГ). You need to arrive there on your own. It is easy to get there from Irkutsk International Airport (IKT) by a regular flight of the Angara airlines. Ticket price is about $80. The duration of the flight is 1.5 hours. Enjoy the great views of the Barguzinsky Range on the way.
 
 
 
 
TRANSFER TO THE BAIKAL GLAMPING
On the way to the private glamping on Lake Baikal called "Don't Panic, My Captain" we will have several stops at view points with stunted panoramas of Northern Baikal. We will reach the glamping in about 1.5 hours. We will pass through Severobaikalsk, a city built by the BAM builders in the late 1970s. We will ask good luck for everyone at the foot of the white Buddhist stupa. Finally, we arrive at our 1st destination - the village of Baikalskoye - an ancient Baikal site known since the 16th century.
 
 
 
 
RELAX IN YOUR BAIKAL GLAMPING TENT
After a long journey, it is best to relax in a hot wood-fired bath and admire the endless blue Baikal in front of you. An excellent national dinner will be served on your own terrace. Stroll through the picturesque surroundings of the village. At night, choose a pillow from the menu for a great night's rest.

We will meet you at the airport of Nizhneangarsk (НЖГ). You need to arrive there on your own. We will reach the glamping in about 1.5 hours. We will pass through Severobaikalsk, a city built by the BAM builders in the late 1970s. We will ask good luck for everyone at the foot of the white Buddhist stupa. Finally, we arrive at our 1st destination - the village of Baikalskoye - an ancient Baikal site known since the 16th century.

GREAT BAIKAL TRAIL
This 18-kilometer route of medium difficulty connects the Slyudyansky lakes and the village of Baikalskoye. The walk takes 4-6 hours depending on your physical fitness. We will walk along the trail in one day and return to the Baikal glamping "Don't panic, my captain", enjoying the beauties of Northern Baikal.

The first section runs along a pebbly beach, crossing rocky headlands. In the middle of the route, we will have lunch on a beautiful observation deck overlooking the ancient island of Boguchan, famous for its Neolithic burial ground.

Our destination is Khakusy Bay located on the northeastern coast of Lake Baikal. It is famous for its wild hot springs. There, hot mineral water gushes from underground, filling wooden pools scattered through the taiga forest. Do not miss the opportunity to experience the "wild" spa treatments. This is definitely a must see point of attraction. By the way, mineral baths are good for health.

Ayaya bay in translation from the Evenki language means "magnificent". Siberian Maldives. It will take us about an hour to get there from Khakusy by our speedboat. Our next destination is Froliha glacial lake located in the mountains of the Barguzinsky Range, 8 kilometers from the shore of Lake Baikal in Froliha Natural Reserve.

Further we shall raft down Lake Frolikha, accompanied by the staff of the Reserve. On the way we will enjoy the views of the purest ancient lake. After rafting across Floliha we will visit a crystal waterfall, the stream of which falls from a height of 20 meters. Finally, we will return to the boat and sail back to our Baikal Glamping "Don't Panic My Captain".

On the 6th day of the trip, you can choose from 3 activities. If you are a fishing lover, we will take you to the mouth of the Kurkula River, where you can catch a fat grayling! Then let's cook it on an open fire. On the way back to the Baikal glamping "Don't panic my captain", we shall visit the Kotelnikovsky Hot Springs to relax after fishing.
YARKI WHITE SANDS
If you want to continue your acquaintance with the Lake, but are tired of long walks, we can take you to the Yarki islands famous for white sands and warm water to have a great time on the beach with sun loungers, snacks and seagulls.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
GALA DINNER & EVENKI DANCES
If you wish, you can spend a day of rest in the Baikal glamping "Don't panic, my captain". In the evening we will serve a sumptuous national dinner, accompanied by a show by a local Evenki dance group.

    Fly to Irkutsk (IKT). There are many regular flights from Moscow and other big cities to get there. The average cost of a return ticket in economy class is about 20,000 rubles. The duration of the flight Moscow - Irkutsk is about 5 hours. Have a great day or two in this historic Siberian city.






    Take a regular flight from Irkutsk (IKT) to Nizhneangarsk (НЖГ) operated by Angara airlines . A round-trip ticket costs about 15,000 rubles. The duration of the flight is 1.5 hours.




    We will meet you at the Nizhneangarsk airport upon arrival.

  • Plane + train (interesting)
    Fly to Krasnoyarsk (KJA). There are many regular flights from Moscow and other big cities. The average cost of an economy class round-trip ticket from Moscow to Krasnoyarsk is about 18,000 rubles. The duration of the flight Moscow - Krasnoyarsk is about 4.5 hours. Stay there for a couple of days. Visit the famous landmark "Stolby" - picturesque rocks scattered across the territory of the Krasnoyarsk National Park.

    Catch a train from Krasnoyarsk to Severobaykalsk. A round-trip ticket costs about 6,000 rubles. The tickets can be bought online on the Russian Railways website. The duration of the train journey is 28 hours. The trains are modern and comfortable. On your way you will watch great taiga views.

    We will meet you at the Severobaikalsk railway station upon arrival.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
  • How many glamping tents have you got?
    We have 2 double glamping tents with private bathrooms, terraces and firewood bath tubs. Extra beds are available upon request.
  • Can I go alone?
    Yes, but the price of the trip will be 20% higher due to single accomodation in a double glamping tent.
  • Can I book your beautiful glamping tent without additional services?
    Yes. If you don't like long walks and dream of having a great time watching sunsets from your own wood-fired bath, enjoying delicious local cuisine or strolling through the picturesque surroundings on your own - contact us! The glamping tents in Baikalskoye village can be booked with no travelling program upon request. The price is 18.000 ₽ per night. 3 nigts minimum. Meals are included.
  • Are there any hidden fees?
    No. You pay for an all inclusive tour. You just need to get to Nizhneangarsk airport or Severobaikalsk railway station. Be sure to bring appropriate clothing and personal items. We'll take care of the rest.
  • Is this trip suitable for children?
    We welcome kids from 10 years old and older. The trip is not suitable for children under 10 years old for safety reasons.
  • Are there nightclubs, discos, cafes and restaurants around the glamping "Don't panic, my captain"?
    No. There are only 4 shops in Baikalskoye village, where you can by simple daily products. They accept bank cards. There are no ATMs in the village.
  • What shall we eat?

    Menu meals are included into the trip price. We will take care of breakfast, lunch and dinner during all days of your travel. If you have any dietary preferences, please let us know.

  • Is it cold there?
    We have a very good climate in Northern Baikal region. In summer there are mild temperatures about 15-25 C in the daytime, and around 10 C at night. In the evenings it gets chilly, thus we recomment you taking a winter jacket to keep you warm.
  • Can I swim in Baikal?
    Yes. But, do not forget that the temperature of the water is good for seals, not for humans. If you wish we can bring you to Yarki islands. There are shallow white sandy beaches there and the water is good for swimming.
  • Does it often rain?
    In the Northern Baikal region, the duration of the sunny weather reaches 2524 hours - a record for Russia, including all southern resorts. In a year there are only 37 days without sun.
  • Won't we get cold in the tent?
    No. The tents are equipped with convection heaters with automatic maintenance of a comfortable temperature. We also recommend to take a cotton pigama to sleep well.
  • Won't we get cold on board the ship?
    While sailing on a speedboat across Baikal, even on a hot summer day, it can be very cold. Therefore, we recommend bringing a winter trekking jacket and a hat to keep you warm.
  • Are there mosquitoes?
    You are going to visit Siberia. Yes, there are mosquitoes here, but not on board the ship and not in the tent. Take some repellents to protect yourself while hiking.
  • Are there bears?
    Yes. But we won't see them. They are very cautious and avoid human contact.
  • Are there Baikal seals?
    Yes. And we shall see lot's of them!
  • How to book my trip?
    Complete and submit the booking form. We send you a contract, a detailed itinerary of the trip and payment instructions.
